World Sparrow Day March 20th

How pathetic is the situation and how inhuman we human are. We destroy, create imbalance in the nature and end up observing various “DAYS”. Today it is world SPARROWS day. Sparrows too have a day to live, to breathe, to fly freely and Say shy is the limit.

I have a next build in my apartment by sparrows for the last 13 years. It is a cute nest and I wounder the number of sparrow generations living in it. My memory of visiting my paternal grandfather's place during vacation. The house was surround with talk coconut tress, mango tree, guava tree and flowering plants and bushes in the entrance. It was my father who use to ask my grand mother to sprinkle some rice grains called (Noyi arisi). This rice would be the made by crushing rice (Also sold in grocery shops) This rice is seldom used for cooking. He would say that sparrow's beak is small so, the grains also should be such that it can pick and eat.-I understand the logic. We brothers in turn would sprinkle the grain and watch the sparrows coming up quickly and picking the grains with their tiny beaks. within no time the place would be as clean and neat as before-with no trace of grains being sprinkled.

The chirping sounds in the morning would make our whole day pleasant and cheerful. I know all of us miss this in our life now. once-common birds are now harder to see. And it’s not just in your neighborhood but the world over. No one agrees on exactly why sparrows have disappeared, but the most common reasons are thought to be changes in architectural styles of houses that no longer support nesting,lack of insect food for chicks due to increasing use of insecticides, and pollution from microwave towers. Proliferation of Pegions & Squirrels in the complex or colonies could also be the reasons, as sparrows being a smaller birds it is not in a position to compete for food & space with the aggresive birds.

I know for reason that we humans are responsible for all that is happening in the nature-As we are the animals with Brains.
Hope to look forward for the day when animals and birds call it as "WORLD HUMAN DAY"

Tamasha Folk Theatre of Maharashtra

Tamasha is a traditional Marathi folk art form. It includes both singing and dancing forms. It is widely performed theatre groups within the state of Maharashtra, India. It is in fact a mobile theatre that goes to different regions of Maharashtra. The word ‘Tamasha’ is Persian origin meaning ‘to have fun or to play’. Today, this word is commonly used in Hindi, Marathi, Kannada and Urdu. Oggu Katha - Oral Storytelling Theatrical Performance of Telangana

Oggu Katha is a traditional folklore singing praising and narrating the stories of the Hindu God Mallana. Mallanna Katha which is performed by the Oggu Pujarulu (minstrels) to their patron community, the seven Kurumas / Gollas. Mallanna Katha is their caste myth, which narrates the exploits of Mallanna their caste hero. As the Mallanna Katha is narrated using a particular percussion instrument called as "Oggu" by "Oggu Pujarulu" it is popularly termed as Oggu Katha.  In other words, Oggu Katha is the style of narration, which belongs to a distinct genre with an admixture of song-speech-dance-sequence performed by 5 to 7 performers having a lead narrator within them. They also narrate stories on  Beerappa,  Yellamma, Pedaraasi Peddamma Katha.
