August 15, Independence Day-This is the 66th Independence day India would celebrate on August15, 2012 My speech for Independence Day Celebrations in the school would begin like this "On 15 August 1947, India attained freedom from the British Rule. Every year, August 15 is celebrated as the Independence Day in India. This national festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country"...... All the students dressed in sparkling white uniforms, with no bags and books would stand in a row class wise. One side would be NCC Cadets in best of their uniforms and caps up (we had boys NCC in our school). National Cadet Corp-NCC a part of defense wing training school and college students. I had mistaken them as Police wing and tease my brothers who were in NCC too. Then, our school principal would hoist the Tri-colour flag, and we all would salute the Flag and sing the song "Janda Unccha RAhe Hamara".. Then of course usual speeches on the importance ...

Every Indian on this Earth collar up with Pride to be born as an Indian in this sacred soil@- these were the wrords on the dying lips of those brave soldiers and freedom fighters who could not see the librated India, yet fought to the core so that millions of Indians could breathe liberated Indian air, smell the fragrance of freedom struggle and touch the every noble soul in restoring peace and harmony within the country for ever. Ramadan and its Significance The month of Ramadan or Ramazan Arabic: Ramaḍān, Persian: Ramazan Turkish: Ramazan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is a holy month for Muslims all over the world and the coming of this month is greeted with ecstasy and expectation. The word Ramadan is derived from Arabic word Ramida, meaning scorching heat and dryness especially the ground. This joy can be witnessed in all the Muslim populated countries including India where the sighting of the moon is followed by elaborate decoration of streets, shops and mosques with colourful series of lights. In Egypt, lanterns are known to be a symbol of Ramadan. They are hung across the cities of Egypt, part of an 800 year old tradition, the origin of which is said to lie in the Fatimid era where the Caliph Al-Muizz Lideenillah was greeted by people holding lanterns to celebrate his ruling.
