Panguni Uthiram also known as Meena Uttara-Phalguni in Sanskrit an auspicious day for Tamilians. It falls on the day the moon transits Uttara Phalguni nakshatram or star in the twelfth month of the Tamil solar calendar i.e. Panguni (March–April). It is the full moon of the month of Panguni. This day is very auspicious and sacred for both the Saivaites and Vaishnavites of Tamil Nadu. For Vaishnavites, it marks the day of Andal’s marriage to Rangamanar.
