Life is short-Make it sweet

Wonder about Life!!!???

"LIFE WOULD BE PERFECT IF:
ANGER HAD MUTE BUTTON,
MISTAKES HAD BACK BUTTON,
HARD TIMES HAD FAT FORWARD BUTTON,
GOOD TIMES HAD PAUSE BUTTONS".

A quick recap of ones life: starting from ones home town, childhood days, college days, university life, at work place, marriage, after marriage, at in-laws place, with kids their upbringing...by then we would have scored 30+of age and still quite confidently batting to score ahead at least half a century.

In this passage of time we come across innumerable people; leave apart relatives and friends, few others whom we cant call as friends or relatives but still they play important role in our life. Out of them with  few we get acquainted, few become close not only to us, in fact to our entire family, few become our family adviser, well wishers, family doctor, family advocate, family tailor and so on. Few people though we know, recognize but still keep them at a distance be it our own family members, or relatives or friends. Some where down in the corner of our heart we remember those who have have made us smile, whom we can trust, who trusts us a lot, believe in our words and  we remain grateful for such people ever. Be in vegetable vendor, or milkman, or watchman or flower seller or a tailor....

One such is a tailor whom become my first friend in an unknown city of Hyderabad after my wedding. SAS Tailor-gents specialist. I still remember, how I met him and when I recollect it surprises me that by now 13year have rolled down and I feel as it was just yesterday I met him.  It was in 1999 when my husband wanted to get good formal dress stitched (he prefers stitched not ready made ones) and he didn't know where to go and we both were on the street of Baba temple, Centarl Exercise colony, Bagh Amberpet Hyderabad. SAS tailor has his shop along with few other tailor shops. Slim man in his late 30s dressed  in white silk shirt with a measuring tailor tape hanging on both side of his shoulders, spectacles on, listening to Hindi songs from a very old transistor-his all time companion. He was busy cutting a trouser piece. while cutting he looked twice at us with a nodding head and I guessed that he was calling us and I decided that we would go to him. That's how I and Syed Abdul Sattar-SAS both came known to each other.  A school drop out but  some how managed to learn some tailoring and slowly mastered it. He was a Ladies tailor to begin with. It was one of his aunt who commented that better to be a gents tailor than a ladies tailor. I did not see any logic behind. in fact ladies tailors are wanted more and are making good money. May be she did not wanted him to be modern Krishna Kaniya surrounded by ladies and girls.  Well, he then stopped stitching ladies garments and expelled as gents tailor. Reasonably he use to charge and was very prompt in delivery. I  introduced him to couple of others in my apartments. All appreciate him for his good work and prompt delivery.

He use to share so much of his childhood experiences with me, about politics, about fashion trend and mostly about education he use to talk to me a lot. He was a school drop out has three kids (His eldest daughter is doing her B.Tech final year, Second son B.tech 2nd year and youngest is in Grade XII), but he put them in best schools in the city and has good knowledge about schools. I use to write leave letter application, Parental queries and suggestions on his behalf. His brothers and sisters are well educated and are working. Very fond of watching Telugu films on Sundays. other than it, no other good habits he has. (Smoking, Drinking alcohol, chewing tobacco or gutka or paan parag). He spent wisely and always use to think ahead of others about savings and so on. Of course he has saved some amount fro his children and himself too.

I sometimes used his machine for stitching some table cloths and so . He has also stitched my garments with new designs. My colleagues use to enquire about the same and I use to manage it. Then, after some time, I too became busy with my work and seldom my visits were to his shop. He then started to come home to collect dress materials to be stitched of my husband, Father-in-law or my son's school dress material.

Once when my sister-in-law was returning from Dubai and wanted her little son(grown up now) in a big school in Hyderabad. I did not understand what she meant by BIG! Anyway, it was he who took me around Hyderabad-Secunderabad, nook and corner in search of a Big School. It was when the admissions were over and roughly 60 days after schools had reopened. I owe him for his valuable time and patience and more than that for his thought to help me. Why did he leave his tailoring work aside and accompanied me from one school to another?? Just to help me....

Last year I found his shop to be closed most of the time. Later I came to know that he underwent cataract eye operation and was on rest. Recently too I noticed his shop to be closed most of the time. He stitched my son's school dress this years in May and later in June or so, I found his shop to be closed again. On enquiry I came to know that he is in advance stage of cancer. I did not believe my own ears, so went to his house, met his daughter who confirmed by saying that it is liver cancer and he is guest of few days. Though I could not meet him, he is now at his in-laws place under going Ayurvedic treatment.

Some where in my heart I feel so sorry and helpless for him. In everyday prayer, I do pray for him but still I am not able to believe myself and help him out.I did call him up and he broke down after hearing to ti his feeble tone of his voice.........

That's all life is... we come....we meet... we depart...... what a strange relationship with SAS Tailor....

I don't know why I feel so sorry for SAS tailor.........

Hope the Almighty responds to all our prayers and who knows miracle might happen....why not....Hope miracle happen with SAS tailor Sattarbhai....

*****Today: August 6, 2012 SAS tailor breathed last at morning 9:00 am. His wife, all three children and other family members were beside him. This is Ramadan month for Islam followers- Holy month. In this holy month he passed away after suffering a lot.

Yesterday, I met him, he did call me in between to talk to him. I did visit him three-four times and gave him hope(false hope). i thought, miracle would happen and SAS tailor would be back to normalcy. May be the Almighty decided the other way.

"MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE"
